We all need a Band of Brothers to Make It!

Welcome

My name is Ken Porter. I am a 62 year young follower of Jesus. I am here to help Christian Men to understand the need and the joy for all of us being in committed friendship with a Band of Brothers.  So that we would have life to the full and continuously become the best versions of ourselves in Christ.

My Path

I learned about Christ in a grange hall in Marysville WA when I was about 11.  I thought I was a Christian because I learned John 3:16 even though I did not fully understand it. I grew up in a home that believed in Jesus but we did not attend any church.  So I had no real Biblical background.  I did not live a Christian life to say the least.  I did whatever I wanted.   When I was 26 after an evening of drinking and partying, with at that time my band of brothers from where I worked, I woke up feeling completely emotionally empty.   I turned on my TV to help me stop feeling this way and I started to listening to a guy with a weird southern accent talking about John 3:16 and living an "empty" life.  It was like someone was reading my mind.  That guy was Billy Graham and I was hearing and understanding the Gospel for the first time in my life.  I got on my knees and talked to God.  I told him I suck at directing my own life and I was willing to give control over to him.  My life, nor who I was, was never the same since then and God had a plan for my life.  But it was not until many years later when God started to teach me about being more accountable and committed to other Christian men.  That is when I started to learn that God came so I could have life abundantly, John 10:10.  This website is intended to share that experience and encourage other men to find a Band of Brothers to go to war with.  Yes, I said War.  We are in a war.  The first part of John 10:10 is that the evil one is out to steal, kill and destroy us.  That is war.  And Jesus came so that we can thrive in the midst of that war and have life abundantly.
